P2 - Create a plan for a cross media advertising campaign to the client brief
P3 - Pre-production materials for their planned media components
LIKELIPZ - Similar product adverts/Genre Conventions
I could not find any male Lip Balm adverts, but I found other bathroom/beauty adverts aimed at males. These adverts all seem to have a minimalistic feel apart from the video adverts which focus more on comedy or showing how the products can improve the buyer.
LYNX TV Advert - “Find your Magic”
In this advert the first 47 seconds is showing different men showing off their traits and differences with a voiceover talking about these things. The products are not shown until 48 seconds in with the slogan “now work on that”, after this the men from earlier in the advert are shown using the LYNX products. The backing music is a guitar riff and drums which keeps an upbeat tone. This advert is effective as it conveys a positive message which the people buying the product will buy into.
CHANNEL - Male Makeup Print Advert
It is extremely simple, but eye catching with no slogan. It is just the brand name in bold in front of the model who is supposedly wearing the male makeup. This stands out although it gives no information for what the product is or why you should buy it.

Every Man Jack - Web Banner Advertisement
Very simple black banner with the product and some information on the left. This is similar to what I am planning to do for my web banner and billboard. This is effective as it tells the buyer what it is and shows the products, however it is very plain and not very eye catching.

As I have seen in other male beauty and bathroom products’ advertisement campaigns comedy is used a lot in each advert. This is a recurring theme which I will try to incorporate slightly in my advert. This differs from female bathroom products, but I feel it sells more effectively to the male audience. The recurring message in many other advertising campaigns that I have come across whilst finding similar products is that using the products will make you better, this aids to sell more products as people want to improve themselves. For example in the LYNX advert the slogan is “now work on that” this is said when showing the products implying the products will make the buyer better.

Drawings of My Proposed Advertisements
This is a visualisation diagram of my billboard. The use of the slogan and and the hashtag will hopefully make it memorable and able to search up. The man in the photo is going to be the same as the main actor in the advert, the bathroom is going to be the background which shows a direct link to the online visual advert. The sections of the billboard make it look more professional and simple.

M2 - Why I Chose these pre - production materials
The Pre Production materials I chose are:
- Storyboard
- mindmap
- drawings of the billboard + web banner
I did not do a script as my advert has no speech and I didn’t feel it was necessary. The pre production materials that I created have helped give me a good idea of what I want to create and aided in my pitch as it showed the people who were giving me feedback what I wanted to do. The production plan gives me set dates by when I have to finish and makes me get my work done on time.

D1 - Legal and Ethical Issues
My work does not cross any legal and ethical issues, it does not contain any slander or libel of any other products or people. It does not contain any unethical practices or political commentaries which makes it able to be viewed by the public and would not be taken down by the ASA. All my actors consented to be filmed and to be put in the advert and we had permission to use the filming locations. I used non copyrighted music as it was a cover of an instrumental and no other brands or logos were shown.
However, my information “one in five men struggle with cracked lips” was not researched and may not be true, this would count as fake information and could receive complaints.
Overall I believe my advertisement campaign is safe to be presented, but in order for the audio visual advert to publicised I would need to research more and change the information on there.
